Dr Davenport is a native of Mobile, Alabama. He felt the call to become a doctor later in life after experiencing the world through many different professions. These included brewmaster, playing guitar in a touring rock band, teaching martial arts, and flying planes. He was drawn to surgery because it was specialty that let him combine his passions of helping others in need with his love of working with his hands to fix things. He has lived in Alabama his whole life and loves the warm and appreciative people of Gadsden.
Dr Davenport completed his General Surgery residency at Baptist Health Systems in Birmingham, AL. He is Board Certified in General Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has served at Chief of Surgery for Gadsden Regional Medical Center twice. He currently sits on the Credentialing Committee and Peer Review for Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Dr Davenport loves spending time with his wife, two daughters, and his two dogs. He enjoys playing in a local rock band, beekeeping, traveling, and brewing beer.
